The purpose of the YMCA Teen Achievers is to assist Black, Hispanic and other youth and teens in preparing, pursuing and achieving post-secondary education and career goals of their choice.

The YMCA Teen Achievers provides academic and career readiness to teens in grades sixth to twelve. YMCA Teen Achievers consist of middle and high schools students, from all income levels, and academic levels. We recruit teens that are one-third “high achievers”, one-third “average” achievers and one-third “under-achievers”.

YMCA Teen Achievers goals are:
  • To help youth and teens raise their academic standards
  • To expose students to diverse career options
