A HMR Program

As a member of the YMCA, you have the good fortune to enjoy the many benefits to improve your health through spirit, mind and body. At the Peggy & Philip B. Crosby Wellness Center, we have helped the community become healthier for the past 18 years with our Healthy Weigh weight loss program.

The Healthy Weigh is an award-winning diet program developed by Health Management Resources (HMR) the nation’s leading provider of weight-loss programs in the medical community. Our program is different from other diets you may have tried. We stay away from fads and gimmicks and only focus on strategies that are proven to work.

Our diet program is for everyone and currently we offer two diet program options, a Clinic-based weight loss class (with or without medical supervision)and Home based-do-it-yourself weight loss kits.

WellFast (12weeks)

The WELLFAST class is a medically supervised program and promotes significant weight loss using nutritionally complete HMR liquid dietary shakes and entrees if a client wishes. Behavior modification is incorporated to provide a safe, effective approach to health management

Minimum requirements: men who need to lose 40 pounds or more and
women who need to lose 25 pounds or more
Weekly medical monitoring by physician and/or nurse
Nutritional complete HMR shakes designed for safe, rapid and
significant weight loss
Reduce risk factors like high blood pressure, diabetes and heart
disease
Monitor your exercise program using Fitlinxx

Healthy Solutions (12 weeks)

In the HEALTHY SOLUTIONS class, you will discover easy ways to lower fat and calories in your diet, learn simple strategies to build physical activity and add more fruits and vegetables into your daily routine. This program combines the use of nutritionally complete HMR shakes and ready to eat entrees along with fruits and vegetables.

Designed for members who want to:

Lose 10 pounds or more
Plan decision-free diets including, nutritional complete HMR shakes,
ready-to-eat entrees and fruits & vegetables
Learn how to make better food choices
Monitor your exercise program using Fitlinxx
Learn how to reduce your risk factors to live a healthier life

Upon completion, ongoing classes are available if you have not obtained your goal weight or you can enroll in a 6-month Lifestyle Management class which will give you continual support and guidance in managing your weight loss.

MOTIVATION

We are all motivated for different reasons to lose weight. I was going to a job interview and found that my clothes didn’t fit. I’m sure that I didn’t get the job due to my weight also. When I joined the program I weighed 296 pounds. I couldn’t believe that I was that close to 300 pounds! I had developed heart problems and my cholesterol was high.

The classes are fun and informative. Going through the program with other people really helps. We all support each other and marvel at our successes. Now that I am 80 pounds lighter I feel better and I look better.My cholesterol went down and my irregular heartbeat went away. I stopped taking two medications and reduced the dosage of a third. I even ran my first Triathlon! Nothing has ever worked as well for me. I have a better understanding of how to eat. I enjoy life a lot more and I don’t feel like I have to hold back at all. I have a different relationship with food. I know I will never go back.

Farmer's Market Fagioli

HMR Entrees offer an easy way to make quick, low-calorie, delicious lunches and dinners. HMR did all the cooking, so all you need to do is heat the entrée in the microwave, add your favorite veggies, and you’re done! Fast, nutritious, and easy lunches and dinners

Try this flavorful recipe made with the Pasta Fagioli Entrée:

Ingredients:
1 HMR Pasta Fagioli Entree
1 cup sliced carrots
1 cup sugar snap peas
Garlic salt, Italian seasoning to taste

Directions:
1. Microwave carrots until soft.
2. Saute sugar snap peas in non-stick cooking
spray on medium-high heat until softened.
3. Reduce heat to medium.
4. Add entree and cooked carrots to the pan.
5. Continue heating until warmed thoroughly.

Calories: 330
Vegetable servings: 2
